First Baptist Preschool of Lenoir is a non-profit program open to children of all backgrounds.

We are a mission of First Baptist Church, supporting families in our community by providing affordable care, Bible-based early education, and growth opportunities for their children.

We provide a half-day program, offering a developmentally appropriate curriculum for ages 15 months through Pre-K. Our program runs through the traditional school year. Our experienced staff and comfortable classrooms provide a safe, loving environment where little ones can learn and grow… spiritually, socially, emotionally and intellectually.

We are pleased to offer our students and staff the security of CCTV monitoring in all classrooms, as well as on our exits. Our entrances/exits are also monitored with call boxes and cameras.

Please contact us for more information. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into the FBC Preschool family soon.

Afternoons

The Afternoon Care program is an extension of the half-day program of First Baptist Preschool, which is a ministry of First Baptist Church. This program is meant to complement and extend the services offered by the Preschool, providing safe, affordable afternoon care for the ever-changing needs of the families we serve. It is not meant to stand alone, but extend and enrich a preschooler's day in a comfortable environment with their friends, enjoying meaningful experiences and activities. Opportunities are provided to allow children to develop their sense of community, their independence, their motor, language, and social skills, and stimulate their curious minds. (please note that Afternoon Care works on the same traditional school year calendar as Morning Program, typically Sept. - May.)

What We Offer

Christian Education

Our classes use the Gospel Light curriculum, a faith-based program with Bible stories and music, the Learn Every Day curriculum, and are additionally enhanced with teacher-designed material. Twice a month our 3 and 4 year old’s participate in chapel with our pastor, Dr. Josh Hughes.

Music

Our classes have music every day. Songs for each season, holiday or monthly theme, and as part of the monthly Bible theme. Music is also used for movement and music activities, parachute games and more. Twice a month we enjoy music with our choir director, Mr. Michael Jennings.

Science

We love hands-on projects. They help us understand this wonderful world God made for us!

Art

Our students have many opportunities to show off their creativity. We use a wide variety of mediums, and encourage creative expression.

Math

From simple shapes and counting, to sorting, graphing and more, we enjoy math. We use games, food, art, and manipulatives to make numbers fun.

Language Arts

Circle time, finger plays, reading time, trips to the church library, and dramatic play all add to our class experience. The Three Year Old classes and Pre-K classes also use Wilson’s Fundations and Heggerty programs.

Motor Skills

All of our classrooms have "tabletop" manipulatives and other activities designed to strengthen small fingers and hands, and help develop hand-to-eye coordination. Our wonderful playground has two activity areas, and activities big and small help with gross motor skill development. With rubber mulch, child-proof gates and CCTV monitoring, our playground is safe and fun.
